At the End of the Day

My bragging rights
Have been taken away
By all that you’ve done
The lies that you say

It’s harder right now
Since I listened to you
And what you told me
Is no longer true

You said you stopped using
It’s not worth it you say
You’re grateful to me
At the end of the day

For all that I’ve done
And have been there for you
And yet now I know
It’s all that you do

And once again
For all that you’ve done
I’m the one with the pain
And left with no one

The son that I wanted
And hoped you would be
Cannot be found
It’s what I now see

The hopes, the dreams
That I had for you
Are not possible
Based on what you do

I can’t take anymore
This I must say
It’s too much for me
At the end of the day
