At The Doors of Heaven

There is a place—sweet as the breath that whispers your name—into
which love has gathered.
Inspired by the colors of your soul when fully extended in devotion,
Side by side with any rainbow, your magnificent hues shine through.
A place where linear time has no dominion,
Where souls in love can travel back to memories rekindled by the sight
of a smile.
I never thought I would stand alone in such a place, heart in hand.
A place where songbirds chime out the songs of ever after,
Like the pleasing sound of children playing.
And with my heart in my hands, my mind can only wander back
To the one who was supposed to meet me there...
At the doors of heaven.
