At the Door
He stood and faced the door,
what a journey brought him here ?
a life lived as a whore.
He sold himself for power and wealth
and when the path was long and wide
he cast his friends and loves aside
but now here is the door.
Before came this obstruct
his motto was his luck
unlucky those he trod upon
as he rushed on and on and on
gained wealth from all the sin he’d done,
light flickers ‘neath the door.
Footsteps behind the door
transfixed he sees the handle turn
and feels the agony of burn
pulled in behind the door.
