At the Crossroads of Freedom

They say freedom is an experience -
the sensation of looking into the eyes of another,
and feeling the weight of a million life burdens lifted from their shoulders,
or gently coasting along the riverbed of love's tender embrace.
Yet, what use is in love's fruits
without the ability to choose?
Do they even grow at all?
I contend
true liberation is in the choosing
