At the Break

........ of the day
we see magic display,
as sun burns through thin haze,
the horizon ablaze.

A veil of low stratus
and high silver cirrus
give a cool morning hue
against sky of deep blue.

Silver turns into gold,
drives out morning cold.
Now clouds start to converge
and their frayed edges merge.

In wispy formation
new colour creation
with pale shades of pastel
so soft and so subtle.

Some peach turns to pink
but is gone in a blink.
Then thick cumulus stack
and clump to white flock

that reflects the sun's rays
in a rich amber blaze.
Thus begins our new day
with a sunrise display.

Hello Tony Hargraves, so this is what day break is like. I am not an early riser, to see the sun rise. Lucky you. Be safe. Enjoy your day my friend.

Hello Tony, I have enjoyed your poem. Lucky you to see a sunset in the early morn. I sometimes wake up to a cloudy day or sunshine. But I do see the sunsets. I enjoy them. Be safe. Enjoy your day my friend.

Hello Darlene. Thanks for your comment. Seeing a sunrise in the clear skies of spring is a gem. It makes up for all the grey dawns that winter sends us up here in the north. Stay safe and best wishes. Tony
