At Sea

At Sea
Poem
Lionel Derbyshire

Usually I am dreaming
About eating doughnut’s
But today my thoughts
Were anxiously waiting
For my guts to kick
And scratch my itch
To go, get and fetch..
If my aim is on target
Then my ambitions
Will find their ports
But If I stay daffy here
I will not board anything
There will be no badges
Yea I feel I am a
Yacht for voyage
I have summed my nautics
And now I m waiting
And quivering at sea
If I can cruise or sail
High waves can tip me over
Fright will sink me under
So shiver or trust
I don’t know where
My rudder will go
If I stay dull here
I will never know
And in isolation
How large my spirit is
And keep on day dreaming
In this fool’s paradise
Or sail on …

Keep sailing, calm waters are ahead, stop at every island. You may find paradise. Nice poem.
