At Play

She drags him into the ocean.
He pretends its against his will.
The waves roll in  over them both.
Just watching gives me a thrill.

This is a memory my mind will store
to bring a smile on a future day.
A child and dog enjoying life
on this sunny, late summer day.

Frolicking in ocean waves
in front of the setting sun.
While we watch from the shore,
across the sand they run.

A smile so bright it warms our hearts
and makes us glad to share this day.
There's nothing better than this view,
a child and her dog at play.
