At Least Know Her Name First
KNOW HER FIRST
I’d liken this hypothetical bar with any bar you’ve ever been into where a man ain’t a man
until he’s done a few shots
I mean everyone in that damned place had the hots
As a platinum blonde haired lady womanly took a seat
And every man in there felt the heat
I’ve never socialized with the ones who are actually there for just a’drinking
While the barkeep and I are just thinking
two eyes are magnetized and mesmerized on each other
And for granting me life I bless my blessed mother
So you two leave with a quiet exit out the door
Him already imagining her audible, “oh baby, please give me more:
No this seemed like a synchronized heartbeat kind of love
But both Venus and Cupid missed their targets from far above
And he watches while she sheds what bares his undeniable desire
And this legendary lady seemed as if she’d never tire
And of course he wondered if this is some kind of test
Because what she thinks is your worst may be her best
Two shadows yearning to co-mingle and you could see it across the bar
From afar
She with her platinum blonde hair
He with a heated look in those eyes the precise color of the Caribbean Sea in a stare
“honey, a fifty foot yacht and just you and me
with a vintage brandy I mixed with some sweet sea
A glass appropriately served upon a sterling silver tray”
But instead of sipping and nipping the gentleman should have taken a minute to pray
Because this lady was no lady and knew exactly what to do with a rope and a knife
Yes, I’m picturing that young man walking out the door tragically to lose his life
