Many people's names were misspelled at Ellis Island. My husband's family's variations were: Crutsinger, Cristinger, Krutsinger, Grotzinger, Gretzinger, and Grechsinger just to name but a few variations of the same name.

At Ellis Island there were tons of lines If you stood too long you were given fines Your name easy if It was Rose or Big Biff Mine was misspelled about a hundred times
