Astray

The weathermen led me astray; I canceled my plans for today. Expecting some rain I thought I’d refrain From an outing an hour away. Instead, there is sun in the sky So the question I have to ask’s why When they make their report They may come up so short Or, much worse, they might out and out lie. We are fools if we always believe What we hear, for the “facts” may deceive And when Nature’s involved Truth is rarely resolved For she always has tricks up her sleeve.

Nature always "has tricks up her sleeves". We had 72 degree weather on Saturday last week and three inches of snow on Monday. What?

Perhaps the fact that we notice it when the weatherperson goofs is a sign of how much better forecasting is now than it was, say, 50 years ago. It really is better, actually. ~ Just sayin'

Ah, so true, Ilene. So true! I hate to cancel plans because of "expected" weather, only to have the weather reports be dead wrong. Great pen!

Oh Mother nature can be fickle and spoil our plans - we had the same situation yesterday we went for an early walk as inclement weather was forecast and then we ended up with a glorious day and no rain. hugs jan xx

I believe in the continental route for justice, guilty until found innocent, whereas the western world believes innocent until found guilty. What I am saying is that in fact I believe very little until i can mull it through my mind and am happy at the outcome of my own resolutions. Hugs and blessings Ilene, Jennifer.
