Assurance of Salvation
"Assurance of salvation and Jesus calls us to love one another."***
Assurance of salvation. ***
"And what is it that God has said? That He has given us eternal
life and that this life is in His Son. So whoever has God's Son
has life; whoever does not have His Son does not have life.
I have written this to you who believe in the Son of God so
you may know you have eternal life." 1 John 5:11-13 ***
"Jesus calls us to love one another."***
"And so I am giving you a new commandment to you now---
love each other as I have loved you. Your strong love for
each other will prove to the world that you are my
disciples." John 13:34-35
The very first thing God calls us to have is assurance of our
salvation, and the second is His new commandment. We are
instructed to love one another just as He first loved us.
It is has the well proven tract record of proving to the
world around us; that we are indeed His genuine disciples.
We are unable to love one another, without first believing in
Bible verses such as the most popular salvation verse of
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life.
The Bible points us to particular scripture verses, but it is
The third person of the Holy Trinity who enters into our
hearts upon receiving God's free gift of everlasting life.
Therefore He enables us to be able to love each other, as
He has first loved us.
We else could take angry people at the world and introduce
them to first love him, and than to love our brothers and
sisters in Jesus Christ, our very own personal Savior?
Who could take people filled with all vile sinful thoughts,
words and deeds, and reform them? Yes, we accept Him
as our Savior and our Redeemer. But we must also accept
Him as the Lord of our lives! "Not (our) will, but Thy will
be done.
"Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in
heavens" excerpt from the Lord's prayer.
An essential part of doing God's will is to put away the old
man or the old woman of our sinful natures. When we do
do so, with His help, we become new creations in Jesus Christ
our Lord.
We no longer lie awake nights planning vengeful acts of
hostility and revenge! Is it possible for our old natures
to again rule and reign over us? Yes, it is indeed possible!
But only if we give it permission to do so! Can we be
forgiven? Yes, with His help!
Love in Christ Jesus!
