Upon tomorrow's arrival, today fades into yesterday. And apathy spurs denial as endangered animals die. Wherever concrete cities rise collateral damage occurs. And as jets traverse the skies, wild birds are annihilated. We dedicate our existence to a utopia of steel. And survive in asphalt jungles, shadowed by lofty achievements. Reality is a mirage projected upon collapsing hopes. And yet, safe in our cubicles, we love our plastic paradise. Our planet's irrevocably changing into a barren sphere. And a legacy of fools; greed disguises profit as progress. 5/31/2015

Love the imagery. "Reality is a mirage projected upon collapsing hopes." "Our planet’s irrevocably changing into a barren sphere." and "For greed’s the legacy of fools". Very dramatic, Emile.

Its just like we change the name of the disease. Before we died of other causes, now when we are alive we get sick due to others

Oooh, this is right up my alley. I've recently been abroad, to Singapore, and Thailand. Last night I wrote a tweet, Singapore- Someone paved the World. Not to mention Bangkok!!! I have chosen to live in a town of 1000 souls, you know why.

and yet, we have eradicated most childhood disease, we have cured many cancers, humans live longer than any time in history, even the poor are less poor than previous generations, we have stopped many diseases, and from all of this? We have more people, they must live somewhere, letting us all live better is not greed but compassion, is how we chose to handle all this success we have for the long term! Just another perspective from someone who doesn't favor concrete at all!!! LOL

Thanks Arthur, yes we have accomplished a lot, but at what price? If we only glean the benefits of progress and ignore the damage inflected, we remain additive to more, and our ultimate success my be the improvement of the individual at the expense of the end of Mankind on this planet. Emile.

How true your words, Emile. The so-called miracles of progress on which we have evolved to depend on clash with the nature of our earth, and may be our undoing someday. Yes...greed for sure...but besides that, now we are programmed to want more in our "plastic paradise." Nicely expressed. 7+Fav, Sandra
