Asking For a Chance
Every moment that passes by
Another teardrop another sigh
He cries out to all he can
They don’t listen or understand
He kept silent for many years
Now his heart is filled with fear
He’s seventeen and his own man
He wants to live he knows he can
His life right now is filled with grief
His time with family is very brief
He wishes and hopes for something new
He has many dreams but lives very few
The system abandoned him in his need
The Lord has found him on his knees
He will be rescued and his hurt relieved
He will be saved since he believes
It’s hard to keep faith in times of pain
He continues on through the strain
To see this young man at a glance
You know he’s asking for a chance
Do not ignore him or pass him by
Do not ignore this poor boys cry
If you see him take your time
Hear his plea ignore the lies
