Asked

I asked him why. 'Why what?' was his reply Why do you smoke your life away? 'It's fun to do It passes the day' Why choke down pill after pill? 'because I can Because I will' Why are you destroying everything? 'When should I stop? 'When everything means nothing' I asked him when 'Five more minutes But then you must leave at ten'. When will you stop and look? 'There's nothing to see Everything was already took' When will you look at me for who I am? 'Never. because I really don't give a damn'. When will you open your eyes? 'Why should I? There's nothing but lies' Once again I asked him why? All he did was sit there So, he had to comply Why give up your family, your friends? 'I don't know, time will heal all wounds mend' Why don't you take a look around? 'At what? There's only the dirty ground' Why do you never care? 'Because nothing matters Nothing is fair'. He just stared at me 'Now little girl, go with your friends Go run and play' I stood there, looking at his face 'What is with you? Get out! Get out of this place' Why, if you really don't care, Take pride in sitting in your chair Watching the others around you mope and pout and turn blue? They cry themselves to sleep at night Because of your awful sight. So, WHY if you don't care WHY just sit there? Shouldn't you have left a long time ago? 'There are things you just don't know' When will you leave? Why don't you just let us be?
