Asian Invasion

Asian invasion, what's the occasion? Why you getting in my house? Harlequin romance? You've had your last chance; turning the page on that louse. Ladybug cousin; similar, doesn't know how to act, sometimes bites! Strange little beetle, read my decretal: get ready, here comes a fight!
---------- Harmonia axyridis are known by many names, including Asian beetles and Harlequins. This is an Alouette: Meter: 5, 5, 7, 5, 5, 7 Rhyme Scheme: a, a, b, c, c, b

My sympathy's for your beetle issues. here in NZ are are now an issue and if they get near wiring they can cause fires with what they secrete. most insurance companies won't pay out for insect damage unless you have special cover. Thankfully we do not have those beetles yet. That I know of. This piece flows well and is informative for those who who are not familiar with that beastie. Have a great Easter from David in NZ.

ugh! i sometimes get an invasion of ladybugs (which are actually kind of cute until there are so many of them!) but your beetles don't look very inviting at all. great poem, though, so at least they were good for something...

these little suckers look like ladybugs, but they're not. If they are swarming, you may have these instead. google asian beetle, you'll go, oh!

Nice little poem meeting all the requirements and showing your consternation with a beetle that appears to have shown up in your neighborhood. I really enjoy your rhymes, Jeff.

Keeping it small/short! A day outdoors was a good for the mental health, I think. Thanks
