Ashes Now Cover, Pantheon of Ancient Greek Gods

Ashes Now Cover, Pantheon Of Ancient Greek Gods Deep within halls of ancient, and dead Greek gods resides heroes forgotten, waiting their just dues As poets of old, in golden verse gave their nods pleas for recognition now so sadly accrues. Does this world wrongly deny heroes of the past In rush to glorify vanity it now casts? Have we cause in forgetting heroes that once trod across time and those famous battlefields of old Anointed with courage, muscles hard as iron rod warriors lost in greater tales no longer told. Does this world wrongly deny heroes of the past In rush to glorify vanity it now casts? Of Achilles, that Homer so famously wrote how many students now even know of his name As we parade about singers of little note with falsely set illusion, their voice deserves fame. Does this world wrongly deny heroes of the past In rush to glorify vanity it now casts? Robert J. Lindley, August 17th, 1999 Rhyme, ( When Much Needed Heroes Are Cast Away ) Note: Assessment on the state of Literature classes as they are now taught in our modern high schools.

Do the younger folks still study Homer? I did back in the 70's but after that...I wonder...Well penned imagery and form Robert; enjoyed the read.

So overwhelming are the classics of the past! We are so prone to just absorb what is in front of us now. I wonder what the future will hold of their memory. Will the name "Shakespeare" be heard in the year 2500?

Robert, a good exposé of current educational lapse. Not only that, but courses in Political Correctness rule, from grade school to university. Sickening. Oh, I forgot forced courses on Diversity like "busing' thoughts into the mind. The past is not significant to our state run institutions. Why even teach these on campuses that are dedicated to no free speech and no free thinking, Panagiota.

Indeed Great poetry.. great people.. highly talented achievers who had influenced the world and made a radical change.. great people whose names are on the page of fame but still not given due credit and recognition.. Rather they should be revived in the memory of this new generation.. to benefit from their insights.. experience.. visions and achievements.. A great message! My words wouldn't meet the beauty of your fine and enlightening poetry! A FAV. My deepest regards, Robert. God bless you.
