Ashen Crumble

ASHEN CRUMBLE

Shores crushed by dawn
Disturb not the earth dragon’s sleeping twin sister demon from her slumber
Scars run from the insides of the elbows to the wrists
Torn by shards of broken glass from a mirror older than age
Step out into the sun, teary eyes no matter the sleep

Pleasant dreams of darkness, and fog, and rain, and trees, and cold, and silence
Grasping at emptiness that once filled the void
Swept away, translucent wings of flies

Thirst, unquenched
Hunger, a distraction
Sleep, an escape
Good, morning

This is a FAV for me; die another time, live another day resounds with truth in my soul. Of course maybe I am rotten to the core too.
