Ascent

Rising from earth, life multiplies
It’s our innate urge to expand
Our instincts driven by God’s hand

Then mind of ego opens eyes
We begin to learn and discern
Yet in fire of desire we burn

When pride dies, our soul wingless flies
Head and heart now act hand in glove
Feral lust transmutes to pure love

Grace descends in heart, bliss the prize
We transcend each and every ism
Magnetism ignites body prism

That we’re God’s light, we realise
Both immanent and transcendent
Luminous and bliss resplendent

Rising from earth, life multiplies
Then mind of ego opens eyes
When pride dies, our soul wingless flies
Grace descends in heart, bliss the prize
That we’re God’s light, we realise

Guru, a beautiful meditative ascent cast in a lovely poetic form, with as usual a deep spiritual dimension. Would like to try this form in the coming days. KG

Unfortunately, Connie has crossed over but she has left us this form as her gift. It’s a shame that this beautiful poetry form is as yet not recognised.
