As Winter Nears
As Winter nears silently I wonder
Of a day and place when passing winds mourn
When all my dreams I will cast asunder
Of the time I've stolen since I was born
As I pass through Fall's crumbled colored leaves
I'll find no peace from trembling goodbyes
As I await the dark when last breath grieves
When my final skin shed quietly dies
Will you remember me when you have time?
If my distant memory comes to you
A moment's silence, a pause to remind
Though like you, I was only passing through
Should I lay in a field of standing stone
In this death's realm, I'll never be alone
