As Winter Nears

As Winter nears silently I wonder Of a day and place when passing winds mourn When all my dreams I will cast asunder Of the time I've stolen since I was born As I pass through Fall's crumbled colored leaves I'll find no peace from trembling goodbyes As I await the dark when last breath grieves When my final skin shed quietly dies Will you remember me when you have time? If my distant memory comes to you A moment's silence, a pause to remind Though like you, I was only passing through Should I lay in a field of standing stone In this death's realm, I'll never be alone 2/29/20

Your poignant poem is so beautifully moving, dear Frederic, and when I paired my second reading of it with one-of-my-all-time-favorite-songs you chose to accompany your deeply emotional piece I was reduced to sad but appreciative tears for the sensitive touch of your golden pen and the palpable pulse of your brilliant poetic artistry. I love it! A fav! It seems we are of the same mind these days, my friend. Warmest wishes always.. ~Susan

Great work. It left me a bit sad, I suppose there's hope too. Very well done Frederic...
