As time changed
His mother, a widow,
kept strict control over his wife,
her daughter- in- law
although she depended on his income.
He knew the rules she imposed
on his wife, her daughter-in-law
were tight, unfair, and excessive.
But he feared it was a sin to oppose
his mother and keep her unhappy,
such was the outlook of many people then.
The daughter -in-law,
on the other hand, had hope,
when her own
daughter-in-law came
she would control her
in the right direction.
But the atmosphere changed.
When her daughter-in- law arrived-
she( daughter-in- law ) controlled her.
