As the Tall Stranger Went In To Sit For a Spell
As The Tall Stranger Went In To Sit For A Spell
As the tall stranger stared skyward in a daze,
blinded by fantastic, flashing illuminations
was it a fantasy he therein saw
Aha maybe so,
Maybe so, which makes one stand there in awe
pondering how a brilliant mind could truly just stall.
Before his feet was the usual clods of dying grass,
then a sidewalk with style and huge superman cracks
Stuff of wonderment and even a bit of dismay
Aha maybe so,
Maybe so, does not this world its beauty cry on out
And the gals at the follies do so dance and shout.
As the tall stranger went in to sit for a spell
he heard a voice cry out you friend, stop now
was his imagination saying same ole tricks
Aha maybe so,
his former keen mind was muddled by the war
but no problem this place was just his kind of bar.
