As Oceans Spray

The fire within me~
Extinguished with rain that fell~
Salty tears, as ocean spray~
but heavy droplets.~
I have been left only smoldering~
a long ago pyre~
Left in ash, scattered now.~
Bits and jagged pieces of~
crumbling driftwood~
Consumed and left among the~
sandy beach~
Which was once a resilient soul?~
of a young girl.~
The forgotten heart~
Obliterated by wind and storm~
I tried once more…..
