As My Songs Fade

I am
The epitome
Of better things to come
A warm letter for some
A dose
An episode of hope
For those beneath this microscope
This lenses that further extends
A life that suffers and never ends
Dealt hard lessons
This one is for those
Who took them as scared blessings
Shall I survive the night?
I always do
And if I don’t
I guess I became a bit weary
Seems there was nothing more to pursue
Where am I in all my misery?
My ambition to one day be as good
As any of you
I do my best to be a better person
But I refuse to let this life get the best of me
And you don’t have to agree
Unless you truly see

This is for the man who doesn’t cry
The child whom was taught to never tell a lie
As my songs fade
The single parent working grave yard shifts
The individuals with burdens too weighted to lift
Don’t let my songs fade
This is for the viewer who understands every line
This is for keeping hope, though I’m losing mine
As my songs fade

Brilliant my friend. The song maybe fading but this piece is rocking. You have written a superb piece filled with many wonderful lines. Great job!

Jerry-bro all any of us can do is try our best - I can't speak for anybody but me but imagine you have been a much better man than i in the past - One day at a time we create the memory of who we truly are - it's never to late bro - God Bless, MJ
