As Long As Saints Roam the Earth

As long as Saints roam the Earth, There will always be hope for humankind. I see them most days, When out and about, I feel their touch, And bear witness to their forbearance, As they persevere to overcome, Difficulties we would not dream possible. I hear about them nightly on the news, And find them in most books, They venture into dark places, And make visits to people we shun. Should we one day forget they are only human, And one straw too many may still break their backs, That will be a day of great peril, With the grace of god, humankind's only means of deliverance.
