As If We Never Said Goodbye
My life is quilted, layered by years
spent in reveries bridging yesterdays,
brushing tears from sallow cheeks.
In dreams, your voice echoes whispers
with sugared sighs of passion in my ear.
Your eyes agleam with need and desire
as if you still lie beside me each night.
