As I Stray

Nights were lost
Days nevermore to be seen
I cannot find the cause
I can no more as well dream

As my portrayal of life differs
So becomes my time to prefer
To have no idea what to be after
I begin to question if I’m but a human lesser

I am if I can ever be
A traveller, a drifter, a nobody
If I can only remember what I see
Yet of moments never a memory

Straying and seeping by and by
Beholding and withstanding through and through
I have a certain truth in decay to deny
And I have knowledge I do not know but knew

Were nights lost?
For yet a coming day to be seen
A cure for a cause
Perhaps I am once more to dream
