As I Look
As I look through these old eyes
I try to not see the world that cries
I try to see the good that surrounds
The wonderfulness that unites and bounds
As I look through these old eyes
I see only brilliant blue skies
I see people helping each other
People helping those who may not be their brother
As I look on this land
I see the beauty that is so grand
From valleys, to mountains, to seas
The magnificence of it fills my eyes to please
As I look I see a world that is full of anger and dismay
I get down on my knees to God and pray
I realize that it’s not God who made the world full of hate
It is our own bias that we create
As you look at the world through your eyes
Look at this world and there may be a surprise
For there is goodness in mankind
Look in your heart for love of one another, truly goodness you will find
