As I Die

As I die,
I see no light, I see no hand reaching out.
When I lived,
Nobody payed attention, no one listened.
As I go into darkness,
It's black and I can't breathe.

My lungs burn for oxygen.
My eyesthrive to see.
My heart urges to beat.

Within five minutes, I'm gone forever.
I'm no longer ignored.
I am not there.
I've lived and I've died.

I stopped by your poetry today to see if you have written anything new Victoria. I hope that you will pick up your pen and write a new poem very soon and share it with us. Love, Carol
