As I Am Seen

What do the Heavens think of me
When God looks down what does He see
What things run through His mind and fill His heart

Beholding one who once was there
Now forging through a world of care
And struggling everyday to find his part

Is He proud of me, as His son
All His affections have I won
Or have I not lived in-step with His will

I wish I had the simple means
To see myself as I am seen
And know if expectations are fulfilled

But though I know not everything
I know enough for reasoning
That God doth always want the best for me

Although I stammer and I fall
And second guess and doubt and stall
I know that my potential He doth see

And thus I cannot help but feel
I wish to me God would reveal
His view from up above so very keen

Then I would fully understand
How precious to the Lord I am
If I could only…see as I am seen
