As He Sleeps

I was a fool
To believe that you loved me
To fall for that cosmic joke
As if I didn't know the punch line
Now as I watch you sleep
Your face has changed
This moment gives birth
To doubt and despair
And I search your face
To find a glimpse
Of the source of my devotion
But no sign of love remains
Clarity offers revelation
I am alone after all
Oddly comforting, though
The honesty of truth

Wow! Powerful, painfully thoughtful write! "I am alone after all Oddly comforting, though The honesty of truth" So wonderfully written! I hope this is purely fictional? But the sad words ring with truth and pain! I may only be 14, but I can taste the pain upon your lovely poem! Smile:) For this man may not desearve the liking of you and your amazing gift! Keep on trucking through life, you'll eventually get there with the help of some snow chains! May your writing be your helping chains! ~Cat
