As Fridays Come

Oh how I miss you everyday
   your voice
      your love
          my son
'twas on a Friday
without warning
your name was called
one sunny morning
   Oh how we wept
      Oh how we mourned
No inkling
No ploy
as the new day dawned
afore the sunset you'd be gone
Did you know
   my darling boy
      the time had come
         for you to go
As cruelly you were taken
    too young to die
       your life cut short
upon that day
   so shocked
      so fraught
your boy
   your girl
      your darling wife
        and I dear son
           your loving mum
Oh how we miss you still
As Fridays come we always will
Two years on since you’ve been gone
my darling son ~ my only one
I miss you every single day
Whence my time cometh
   look out for me
let you and dad be first I see
Together forever ~ at last us three

Dear Ann..Poetess of the Human Heart. Never afraid to share joy nor pain. You are a three dimensional writer. I do mean, one with intense feeling and veracity. Condolences on losing your son. You list day and date. And_ Your feelings of sadness. But I am certain, they await you with long stemmed roses and hugs. This great poem is on my favorite of all times list. Love, Panagiota xo

Dearest Panagiota ~ I thank you for your incredibly kind words my friend and the FAV, such a compliment and I thank you kindly... I will never get over losing my only son at such a tender age, but sometimes putting my feelings down in a poem is really cathartic. Keep well my friend. With love and hugs Ann xx
