As a Child

as a child
i laughed
i danced
i played
in the trees
in the grass
in the sand

now i am not
i must be
an adult
responsibilities
i am an ant
no longer
do i fly over the trees
they won't let me
no one will let me
they tell me to think
they tell me to do
all i want is to be left
alone in the company
of one who cares
