Artless Obsession
An artists eye
earth brushed by
endless waves of shapes and color
contrasted variety among objects
and objectives
awestruck gaze
though wizened by life
and death
while senses reel and slacken
as the creative mind is seduced
by the passion
for both
perceptions cursed with vestal depth
to breathe deep the scent of
anemic dust, chilled by time
and a distant atmosphere
with all the mingled flavors of
stale sunshine
how torturous are the
artless obsessions
that engorge the creative
with a manic fervor
to create
