Artisan's Moon and Candy Buttons
Sweet Sweet-
with buttons of candy
in colors on paper
slipped into pockets at the start of the day
Bright Bright-
with vials of sunshine she filled
from last summer
she hangs on her neck on filigree chains
Bask Bask-
in her golden glow
as the soul stone she swallowed
lights up in the night
Pure Pure-
with bleaching discoveries
on sheets periwinkle
now scented and held in the crisp morning light
Flow Flow-
with sensory footsteps
in balance and bruises
which only she knows and can see anyway
Trust Trust-
that all the earth's sleeping
the moment she sleeps
and puts movement away
Full Full-
with words that she ate
on the last day of Autumn
and well into June
Safe Safe-
beyond her enigma
she fills up her soul
and is cradled to sleep by the artisan's moon.
