Art Is Always In Progress

I add some sprinkles
Glue in sawdust
Slash some holes in it
My husband asks, "Is that one new?"
My paintings are all new.
Every day newer than yesterday.
Never satisfactory.
Never complete.
Always in Progress

Many artists tell me that. Sort of like my poems. I could work on them a hundred times and they would never come out quite like I'd like them to.

I keep redoing the same themes, never feeling they are quite right.
