Art and Ownership

People buy pictures
They have a notion
That they are owners
But actually
The pictures own them.
They will outlive
Or outlast them
They are only
Custodians.
They purchase
Pyramid,
Art will live.
And they...
Pharaohs:
Dead.

I agree, our material things do possess us, more than we posses them. They say, "You can't take it with you", yet we continue to acquire more and more. I really enjoyed this unique poem, Dr. Ram! It deserved a top placement. Congratulations on your win, as well!
