Art

Art. I don't want to dwell on the if, buts or maybes of what isn't going to happen. I'm going to dwell on what you want to happen. You want a painted canvas of every secret and lie you ever told. You want a hug for every bug you ever killed. And by bug I mean the things that make you feel like a creep, perhaps your very own skin. You want a  smile for every laugh you've ever shared with a stranger that made you feel like you weren't a danger. But we both know you're a danger to yourself more than anything. You're a danger to every unspoken thought you've ever said. It wasn't heard but the voices in your head a louder and you know it. You want pity for the situations you can't explain because the world makes it look easy. You want help from everyone but yourself and don't look at me and tell me it's not that easy. It's not easy because you are used to the easy things in life. Your definition of a hardship is waking up and not knowing what to wear but that's not your fault, its what you were taught. Don't degrade any feelings you've graded without a degree for any degree. For those are the very feelings that define who you're supposed to become. To paint a painted canvas they tell you, you need paint, brushes and a canvas. I say to paint a canvas you need raw, painful, hardships, pain, emptiness because all of those are things that can only be bought through sacrifice even if it's sacrifice to thyself. ~Low-Key Poet ?? -Sihle Simelane
