meaning the art of poetry
are poems that explore
the meaning of poetics
and so this is one of them
someone asked me the other day
how do you write a poem
I told them its was easy
that you just start with a idea
a feeling
an image
a memory
begin with with truth
then add in some lies
and connect it to everything else in
this funny little thing called life
and that when you are done
somewhere in between
the truth and the lie
should be something
that resembles a poem
because the real art of poetry
is when the truth you started with
blends seamlessly with the lie
you ended up with
and somehow
the two opposites
together on the same page
build upon each other
to become something more
then they could have
ever been
apart
