Arrogant Mortals

We pray to the planets for bestowing good luck,
And consult the stars for predicting our future..

We blame the universe for the misfortunes that happen,
And search the galaxies for hidden messages..

Asking and demanding,
Searching and seeking..

Yet the universe remains coldly silent,
Offering no solutions,
Providing no knowledge..

That should show us our place,
A speck of dust in the mighty universe,
A mere ball of matter and energy combined..

Yet arrongant enough to demand acknowledgement,
And vain enough to think he is superior!!
