Army of Melodies

As music slowly seeps into your mind,
You slip into a world undefined.
The melodies swirl like colors,
Splashed upon an artist’s canvas.
Blending to utmost purity,
Filling you with an obscure security.

Each instrument is a soldier on its own.
Put together, an army with power unknown.
Drums carry the heart beat, the lifeline,
That the others all marched to.
Perfectly synchronized in their paces,
All filling their designated places.

Like blood through veins the notes course,
Filling the air with tremendous force.
Combining itself with the beat of your heart,
You feel as if it stops, your life will to.
Nothing else but matters though.
The music in the moment is all you know.

I love this and as a music lover (playing as well as listening!) I can really relate. Music has a life unto itself, and is much like a second oxygen for those who love it. Beautifully written. :) God bless, Amy
