Arms Wide Open
"Lots of thoughts in my head today,
Of those who are special and far away
I am careful not to think to deep,
And wonder; which will affect my sleep
Better to keep it light,
For that is right
So what’s this motion,
Your arms wide open
Are we measuring the width of a door,
Or an exercise to strengthen our core?
Is it to signal how much to back up,
Or a playful “airplane” strut
To bring a smile on a little one,
While in a park having fun
Is it the beginning of a ballerina twirl,
Or the pose holding a flag unfurled
I think it’s a sign of acceptance and trust,
One has confidence, a must
To let life be,
Beyond what you see
Unselfishly,
And deservingly
For a heart needs to be free to chose,
Without the fear to lose
What you want to hold so closely,
Better with your arms open you see
A basket over a light,
Is not right
So to the beauty,
Should shine through
Of those you hold so dear,
For me it is perfectly clear"
