Armed and Dangerous

Courage measured in Caliber
   Steel courage with polished pearl handle
 Grip this fallacy falsley and create
Havoc...........wreak the balance
  Cavalry calls... corpses collect in Calvary

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  bullets rain in pain, falls ghostly on the slain
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
         Reworked annunciation test
              to bring to light epidemic death
                     to curse NRA rhetoric I detest

Arm us, Arm them, Arm the children
  Harm us, Harm them, Harm the children
These doctrines we refuse to evolve
 Tragedy calls and victims fall
this travesty we refuse to solve

Madness, manic brandishing panic
 seperate and fearing
  divided and leering
We will never be one
          while
Obsessed with the gun

Wow, this is very powerful and provocative. Great touches with the alliteration and (me thinks) assonance (sorry I've already forgotten most of the literary terms my teacher taught me, bear with me). Another brilliant poem....I really admire your style and the fluency with which you write. Can you teach me? love, Amy

I have Charlton Heston in my head when I was reading this piece. So much going on..the calvary...western jumps at me...I can see the evolution of guns from the start of our democracy until now and the destruction keeps on getting more and more..hope I made sense here brother. Great job and very creative.
