Arjuna, 21st Century

Trappe within my skin,
trapped within my life.
I live each day within
the same parameters
of responsibility.
I do right
no matter what.

I've done wrong
believing it was right.
Such constrictions,
such borders,
leave me no outs,
no excuses.
I want to explode,
but suspect implosion
will be my lot.

Where do I get relief
within the boundaries
that I set?

Take a cleansing breath,
embrace the rules,
embrace the borders
do your dharma

Very thought provoking. I read it 3 times and felt it each time, then 3 times I paused to consider it. I'm reminded of escape, being an escapist myself, and the need to get away from reality somehow, someway that is 'acceptable.' Get away from ourself? We cannot escape dharma / karma and there's a certain power in knowing when we are helpless for such knowledge should enable us to let go. I'm thinking aloud, letting you know your poem works because it has captured my thoughts ... CayCay
