Are You Watching Over Me

Thinking of you
Remembering the last years
When you helped me recover
Showing me the true love of my mother
By my side you would always stay
No matter how hard I pushed you away
It was your love and dedication
That helped me reach
A place they said I would never see

I will always remember the early years
You were always there to help with any tears
And to save me from my fears
As time went by
You were always there to answer any call
You helped through my hardest time
Forgiving me my life's mistakes
Devoting yourself to my recovery
We grew closer than I ever remember
We had moments together
That will last forever

It is so unfair
That when I recovered
Out of no where
I was informed
You had become ill
It was this fatal sickness
That would take you from us
But your memories will always remain

As I pass through these cemetery walls
To see your final resting place
In my mind you will always be
To my knees I fall
Lowering my head I think...
Are you watching over me
From someplace far beyond

Thank you Jan, I appreciate your thoughts on my work. My mothers birthday is around the corner and as you may be able to tell from the poem, I feel my mother did more for me than anyone could ever ask of their mother.
