Are You For Real

The nerve you have to assume
Like calling your dog to heel
You can just command me home
Tell me this are you for real

Ok so I am not getting your respect
I can’t take you back to the family
Neither have you shown any regret
They all think from you I should flee

In this relationship I was the one to spend
You said come home yet no offer for fare
Now my precious emotions are all spent
There is nothing left to salvage here

I am not the remnant of your conscience
I won’t be the recipient of your spiked dream
I am not the dog you taught obedience
To run in attendance to your dry scheme

You tell em darlin. We're grown and don't need to be told when to come home. With a ring you can ask but fella we're looking for an equal not another father right Joy. Well thought out and well said. May the Father bless you with an adult man. TLee
