Are Writers Insomniacs??

At first the words
The thoughts
The voices
A welcome change.
Like a neglected child
showing a new trick,
'Look, Look at me...
Look what I can do!'
Till you feel sick.
It is a nice visit of myself
Now the stay is over welcome
Please leave
I need to be numb
It is my own payback
for turning into a zombie.

I am so happy to have the time to read your excellent poetry this beautiful Saturday morning Lisa. I think some are. Keep your pen flowing. Love, Carol

Yes I understand the feelings. Waking in the middle of the night needing to put something on paper. Maybe a slight thought during the day and wham o in the middle of the night it comes to me what I need to say. Keep writing. Oh at my age I tend to forget and I feel I need to get up and write.
