Aquarium Way

Their world, it offers peace, tranquility
I gaze upon it when troubled and blue
It exists in silence within my world
As in my home, their world is there too

I maintain it for them, so they do exist
As their lives are what I wish mine to be
Swimming along behind transparent walls
Not knowing they’re captives, they swim carefree

Bright colors, subdued hues, natural shades
A world of splendor for them, so thrives
I witness them, their beauty, calmness, too
Realizing then, what it means to be a live

So serene and well written. Nothing better to soothe the mind than watching an aquarium. Very inventive poem. Regards Heidie

So true, and yes, I look at my pets some days and sigh, "Oh, to be a beloved pet - how serene!" Agh well...at least we don't have to poop outside. lol love Kristin
