Aptly
So much has changed
Yet love remains;
Sights seem so strange
In sad refrains.
You are gone now
Yet all looks bright;
Fine works endow
Our common sight.
Daze follows gloom
In sighs we heave;
In ample rooms,
Sadness still grieves.
Each mortal shines
In fond light brief;
Both yours and mine
Live joy and grief.
Too late, too soon
The final wave;
And ere the noon,
No time can save.
In stray echoes,
The new day dawns;
In ebb and flow,
New meaning spawns.
We will be free
To live with zest;
Your legacy
With seed our quest.
So rest in peace
With love and light;
Be now at ease
With homeward flight.
Aptly we think
Upon your stay;
Let progress link
The light of day.
