Apron Strings

When she wakens and
  The sparrows fly,
Her dawning thoughts catch fire
  For you and I
...of this I know...

When she pauses midday
  The wall clock seizes
Her daydreams fixated upon
  Ourselves and freezes
...of this I know…

When the bough breaks
  And darkens the skies
Her scrutiny hungers for
  The apples of her eyes
...of this I know…

When her world revolves
  With the freight of stone,
Still she lives and breathes
  For us and us alone
...of this I know...of
this I know...
