April Rains

The day is warm, sunny and bright
Butterflies emerging from a long, dark night
One by one, each slowly begins unfolding her wings
Dancing ever higher, to a song Mama Bird sings
Animal babies everywhere take pause & listen
Dewdrops upon the flowers tinkle and glisten
After the mighty rain the night before
Vibrant colors as the sun sweeps across the meadow floor
First day of a new year, every single Spring
Budding new life only April Rains can bring
